Sue and I have sold our house in Portola Valley, and we have ended the lease on our transition house in Woodside, so we are completely transitioned to life in Petaluma. However, Sue and I still need to go to the office in San Francisco and the commute from Monkey Ranch to the Financial District is very taxing in the rush hour. Our solution is a small pied-à-terre in The City. It’s a small, simple, delightful, bottom floor flat on the top of Russian Hill. It’s at the tippy-top of one of Frisco’s tallest hills, but it’s three blocks north to Fisherman’s Wharf, three blocks east to North Beach, two blocks west to the bars and night life of Polk Street, and one half block to the Hyde Street cable car that takes me to the office every morning.
